What I find

What I find “annoying” is people like Andrew Kelly from Somerset whose unsubstantiated, ignorant views on topics like nuclear reactors are spread blindly to other people who take them at face value. Andrew himself points out that his views on nuclear reactors are from 20 years ago and you’ll probably find that anyone who opposes nuclear power uses that example as a basis for their beliefs. Think of the changes we have seen in everyday life in the last 20 years, think of the technological advancement that has happened over the last 20 years, hell, just think before opening your mouth or writing a letter! Research your strong beliefs, Google things like “pebble bed reactor” or (God forbid) “nuclear reactor safety”, read scientific publications, educate yourself! Even Greenpeace founding members (such as Patrick Moore) have come to realise that they were wrong to opposing nuclear power. A 747 flown directly into a reactor won’t cause a breach, modern reactors require constant supervision just to keep them going and can’t “meltdown” by themselves, if at all. Nuclear waste can be safely stored for thousands of years if necessary, but think of technologic changes that will happen in just 100 or even 200 years to process, reuse or simply shoot waste into the sun. Deaths accountable to nuclear reactors are insignificant compare to the deaths due to just coal power stations. Nuclear power is a clean, cheap and safe way to provide power. To anyone who wishes to reply to this letter, RESEARCH your response first!
