you only need half a day to see Pisa, bugger all else to see there, so we jumped in a train and took off to Florence, only an hour or so away, where we had enough time to go in and see the Statue of David. You weren't allowed to take any pictures, which I always take as a dare:
This one's off my cell phone, I did the ol' "wander-around-with-the-phone-up-to-your-ear-snapping-away-while-looking-like-you're-talking-to-someone" trick:

The statue of David certainly inspired me:
Yeah baby...
If you don't have the time, you can always go to Florence's main square to see the fake statue of David, looks exactly the same:
Oh, and I wasn't the only person the statue of David inspired... from what I could see it appears that everyone in Italy who makes a statue makes sure that there's a willie attached to it:
Here's the main square, itself:
And some other statues in it, looking out to the crowd:
I particularly liked this one, it kicks ass:
Although this may be my favourite, baa:
After more wandering around Florence, we came to its famous bridge. All the shops across it sell jewellery:
View from the main bridge during the afternoon:
and evening:
The place we stayed at had huge lifts:
Next day it was back off for more wandering around Florence's streets:
Back along by the river:

Until we found a fantastic park:
A rather shy statue here:
I made the mistake of pulling this guys finger:
A different statue for a change, because you can see any genitals (and it's a flying horse):
There was also a pretty kick ass mansion in the park:
Which was fairly stunning inside:
Every ceiling was different:
back outside:
Wandering around the grounds some more:
