Here's the now famous "Black 69" run, a bowl of powder off the beaten track that no one seemed to go to except for us, we sure as hell weren't complaining, especially after our 4th consecutive day visiting it:
Crazy and I trekked for 30mins up the area of power you can see on the right for the ultimate power run. Here's me at the top:
And here's us down the bottom, showing our tracks (the start of my video shows us caning down it) :-)
No matter how hard you stacked, it was like rolling about in cotton wool, as Dennis found out time and time again:
Getting to Black 69 involved 4 chairlifts:
and 2 Gondola rides, one of which has the biggest span between pylons of any in Europe (from one mountain to another):
You get a fantastic view down to where your body would be atomized by the force of impact if the cable snapped:
Couple more snaps of the snow, here's a happy man, Karl, after ripping down a fresh powder run. He told me in confidence that he wet his pants from excitement:
Tim, Aaron, Byron and Katie on a chair with me:
Of course it wasn't all fun and games, due to the X-Treme nature of snowboarding, poor Nic broke a bone in her hand and had to be driven off the mountain. I heard that she was attempting a Mc-Twist in the half pipe when she saw a baby in a pram about to roll down the hill, trying to add an extra 720 into her move to set the prams break caused her to smash into a forest. Hitting the 3rd tree caused a slight fracture in her hand and after completing her X-sport run down the half pipe (getting a 9.9 from the judges) decided to go and get checked out after Dennis started crying due to sympathy pains. Or something like that:
