The metro system in Barcelona is damn good which made it a pleasure to get around Barcelona, better than London in my opinion. We did find it somewhat amusing the fine for smoking on it though, 30.05 euro?!!
Craig and Kim's mates also took us through the more Gothic part of Barcelona:
Here's the "sighing bridge":
So called because a beautiful Princess would walk across it (way back when) and everyone who saw her would let out a sigh. It's also called the sighing bridge due to tourist performing stupid posed by it.
Then it was down towards the waterfront
Were we checked out Christopher Columbus (well, his statue, I found out he's dead these days):
He's supposed to be pointing towards America the "New World", but they screwed up and he's actually pointing the wrong direction.
Apparently the didn't like him much either, as they called him "Colon" in Barcelona (you can make that out at the bottom of this pic):
Then it was up to the castle way up above Barcelona for a fantastic view:
You could just make out the Sagrada Familia:
During Day
At night (we stayed up there drinking beers for some time):
There was also a sweet view over Barcelona port:
Here is the castle itself:
We caught the bus back down. Spaniards take safety DAMN seriously, here we are in the open top bus, with the guys pointing...
...at the hammer designed to break any windows in case of emergency:
It wasn't the only hammer either:
